Are you planning a trip to South Africa and thinking of what to do in Cape Town or what to see?
Don't worry we got you covered, because here are some suggestions or call it an itinerary to Cape Town if you wish.
I usually suggest taking advantage of Hop on Hop off or hiring a car. As like that you might see the most and decide your self where you want to spend the time.
Though Cape Town is beautiful
Table Mountain
I mean, you probably cannot go to Cape Town and not visit the Table mountain as it is a landmark. Might be a heavy touristy place we agree with that, but you can come among the first ones in the morning and enjoy it with a small number of people. There for sure is an alternative to it (another point of this guide), which is for free but Table Mountain gives you different views and path on the top you can walk.
Lion´s head
This is a free thing you can do so, if you are on a budget, this could be it. Make sure you have proper shoes on and a bottle of water with. It takes around 40 mins one way and you should not be afraid of heights. Part of the hike is more like ferrata as you take ladders and handles with nothing behind you. There a way around this, but it still includes two ladders.
Also, an insider tip, in case you are a guy looking for a perfect spot to propose, then this could be it. The sundown view from the top over Cape Town on one side and Camp´s Bay on the other is simply IT.
Seals and the hop on boat
In Cape Town there is a classical Hop on Hop off bus but also a boat in a canal (around Four Season hotel and expensive apartments) and another one takes you through the docks. It is an interesting ride with way fewer people AND you can see the chilling spot of the seals, which is pretty cute.
Markets
And markets! Oh yes, i have to say that the African markets are the best we´ve ever experienced and Cape town is full of them! So, for example, the V&A Food market. The amount of delicious and interesting food you can find. Or the Watershed, which is kind of an old warehouse now transformed into little stores with local crafts. Whether it is a bag, wine, jewellery or painting, you will find it here.
Two Oceans Aquarium
One would say, that it is more for children, but i did enjoy my time here as well, especially the tunnel where you truly feel like underwater. Give it a chance and have a look at ocean beauty.
What else is there for you to do?
Helicopter rides
Colourful Bo-Kaap street
Sunset catamaran cruise
Yacht around Robben Island
Kayak around Sea Point
and more...
